Ethan Sohel Arrived!

I am a little behind on my blogging, but Ethan Sohel Gilani was born on 09.22.08 at 10:15am. He was 7lbs 4oz and 19in long. Labor was quick and mostly painless. Ethan is healthy, with no problems steming from his umbilical cord. We couldn't be happier and loving almost every min of it lol. He sleeps pretty good during the day but we struggle a bit at night.
Ethan got to meet my parents last week when they came out to visit for a few days, Sohel's mom will be coming out at the end of October and I know she is super excieted. Having my parents here was nice, we got to do some touristy things and hang out.

We are getting ready to move...again, but this time just up the road. We can't wait, we are finally going to have a garage to park our cars, no more shoving snow off the windshield in the winter!

Look below for some pics of our little man, Ethan!

Update on Baby Ethan

I think he is ready to come, I went to the Dr. yesterday and I was 2 cms dilated and 50% effaced! WoohOo! The Dr. said he could come this week or in a few weeks but she doesn't think he will hold out until the 1st of Oct. I am super excited and can't wait for him to make his arrival! I go next Thursday for an ultrasound and check up.

Only 23 days left

We have only 23 days left until our son is supposed to make his entrance. We can't wait! I had a NST again this morning, we passed with flying colors. Only 7 more NST's left!!! Can't wait until I am DONE with them, they are sooooo boring. We have an ultrasound coming up on 9/18, where they will check Ethan's weight and make sure he is still head down. Which I think he is because he likes to move around and hit my bladder! We bought his a cute costume for Halloween. Its a orange onsie with a ghost on it and a pair of black pants. I can't wait to see it on him!!

This week is going to be a little crazy because Sohel is having surgery on his head to remove a cyst. His surgery is tomorrow, he should be in and out with in a few hours, its not a big deal, just sounds like it because its his head. He will be off of work Tuesday and Wednesday and then can't wear his cover for 4 weeks. I am not sure what the USMC will do about that since they can't wear the uniform without the cover....

Well Kansas is already starting to get cold, it all started with left over hurricane rains and it has been no higher than 70 the past 2 weeks. Its really nice, except for the cloudy sky's. Today its only supposed to get to 70 and that was in the morning. By tonight they are saying high 50's. I wonder if that means it will snow more and be colder this winter? I thought last winter was bad.
Well until next time

Getting Close

Its getting close the the birth of our little one! We had a baby shower with my family in Ohio which was a lot of fun and we got lots of goodies. When we got back we finished up the baby shopping by getting a stroller and lots of other stuff. So now Ethan can arrive in style!

I have been having some contractions, on Monday at my NST they caught a big one on the scale! It lasted for a bit but didn't hurt to bad. I just hope Ethan stays in there a bit longer to grow! At the last ultrasound we were told he weighs about 5.9! Supposedly that's avg. but he seems large to me :)

We are moving...I know the end of October to a bigger place with a garage (that was the selling point for me!) I can't wait I just wish we could move before Ethan comes but what can you do? At least it won't be snowing by then.

We are very excieted to see our families after Ethan's birth and show them a bit of KC. I am not sure they are looking forward to visiting the midwest, I know they are at least excieted about Ethan coming but using your vacation to visit KS, I am not sure its on anyone's list of things to do before they die, lol.

Well that's all I have for now!

Welcome to our blog!

Lindsey here... Since this is the first entry I will tell you what is going on currently in our lives.
- We are living in Kansas
- Sohel is in the USMC and working to help Marines get out of being recalled back to active duty
- We are expecting our first baby October 1st! YAY!
I think I am over the hump of being sick moving towards being uncomfortable... by the time the baby comes we will married 2 years and I can't believe it. I didn't ever think I would live in Kansas, but it hasn't been so bad so far, the winter SUCKS but when its warm its really nice here. More populated than I expected too. I can't wait to move to our next duty station which could be as soon as October or maybe 2009. I am hoping for either Cali or back to NC. I would like Cali since I haven't ever lived there but NC would be nice to be back near family.
Anyways until next blog!
